Greetings everyone,

Regarding Yamaha's DB50XG wavetable daughterboard, can someone please answer the following questions. Thanks a lot.

1) Looking at the photo, where is the "chipset"?
2) Is there a name for the chipset?
3) Printed on the PCB, what does XQ791 mean?
4) Are the two chips in the bottom right hand corner 2MB each, making a total of 4MB of ROM where the samples are stored?

Thanks.

XQ791 is the model number, XR712 is DB60XG and XR835 being DB60XG for NEC computers.

IC7 is the chip that creates all the sound, it is called SWP00, IC8 in effects memory and IC8 and 10 in second photo are the sample ROMs and they are 2MB each. IC1 is the CPU that takes MIDI and turns it into whatever is necessary to get sound going. IC2 is the program ROM (1MB IIRC) for the CPU and IC3 is the work memory (32KB). IC6 is an 18bit DAC (which is much less noisy than the thing on DB60XG).
