i finally got my spare compaq lte 5xxx series laptop out of storage to attempt to fix, when it is powered on only the lcd indicator, the cpu get mildly warm but no sign of life.
Measuring the DC voltage coming in on the voltage regulator ic (18v), looking the datasheet seems like it the power regulator board is using the ic for a 3.3v output and measuring the output i get only 3.0v i guess for a CPU the 0.3v difference would make it not work right?
btw i didn't managed to find a short to ground on the board.
Did you guys know what could be wrong on this board?
