about the GSSBK320.94b soundfont, in the dream soundfont pack here on vogonsdrivers there is also a GSSBK320a.94b which is another 4.5 megabytes, but this doesn't seem to be a standalone soundfont as it doesn't play all instruments when loaded alone. maybe a supplemental soundfont of sorts to the former? fwiw the instrument definition portion is nearly 3x larger in this one. i did manage to get it to work with the original soundfont by loading them together while giving the "a" file lower priority, however on a few quick listenings i wasn't sure i could pick up any real differences. possiblity slightly richer guitars with this one? did anyone figure out where this "a" file exactly came from? also, what is the relation of GSSBK320 to the 4 megabyte ROM on the maestro 32/96 cards? according to the specsheet the maestro ROM has 393 sounds while GSSBK320 only has 353, so i suppose these are not identical.

also is there any reason at all to use any setmanager version beyond the default 2.1? it is claimed here (1, 2) that 3.15 can't load the default GSSBK320.94b bank under win9x for some reason and is buggy in general, so it seems strange that they even put this newer version out in the first place.
