Hi,

i want to keep my ibm programs and wanted to know if an upgrade is possible, looked online but can find a definitive answer.

this will save me from having to re-install my 12 floppy ps1 recovery 😉 (yes i'm still using the original hard drive....sexy 129mb)

edit: was able to upgrade the ms dos from 6.20 to 6.22.

Yeah you can update to wfw 3.11 but I wouldn't bother if you don't have a network. You can update the win3.1 core files to 3.11 by downloading the Kernal update from http://themagicfloppy.com/Windows/Update/windows3-1.htm Two ways of installing Wfw 3.11, by doing a fresh install or using a Wfw 3.11 Add-On package which will save your current Win3.1 settings. The only difference between the two is the first disk, The Add-On disk looks for an existing Win3.1

Cool that you have the original disks. It may be worth making images of them before they get damaged.

Hardware wise give us the exact Model No. It'll be on the sticker on the right hand side of the flip down flap. There'll be quite a few things you can upgrade on it such as amount of memory, hard drive etc. Fitting a network card is an option. These systems usually have Vesa Local Bus build in to the motherboard with the possibility adding vram.

Of course, as always, I'm open to correction...😉
