Hello, wise ones. I have a query that maybe some one on this forum can answer. Using VDMS, no errors or anything (thanks to Vlad). However, when I play the audio track is going too fast, or at least the voices are.

Example:

(For those of you familiar with the game)

Instead of the game starting out with Ben's "Whenever I smell asphalt...I think of Maurine"

It sounds more like "WheneverIsmellasphalt.IthinkofMaurine"

and it goes on like that. Hopefully, my little textual simulation makes sense.

Do any of you know what I can do to solve this?

Moving to VDMSound -- this is more a VDMS related problem than a generic DOS problem.

Yes, it’s my fault.

Sounds kind of like a problem with your sampling rate. Need to check with Vlad or someone else who has a better understanding of the inner workings of VDMSound.

Keep in mind that there's varying reports of Full Throttle being completable on the next ScummVM version - sometimes with minor bugs.

If you compile your own version, you can try it today!

Still, we need to square it away with VDMSound. Have you tried LEC Quick&Easy? It comes with built-in configurations for many of LucasArts' games with VDMSound.

In the readme, it says something about getting stuttering sound in Windows 2000. But NOT anything about it being too fast in XP.
