I downloaded VDMSound-2.0.4-WinNT-i386.msi file, and doubleclicked it, it said that
the installation package couldn't be openned. contact the vendor to verify that it's a valid windows installation package.
i'm using windows 2000. what's wrong here?

There is already another thread on this here. It includes several things that might help, including a way of verifying your Windows Installer. I suggest you try those first and then report back if they don't work.
