The title pretty much says it all.
I've had an ESS AudioDrive with an OPL3 chip for a while and have now installed an Adlib clone (OPL2) into my Windows 95 P75 PC.
Even though I set the ESS AudioDrive to configuration 0 through device manager (this is supposed to disable the music chip on address 388) and no resource conflicts show up, some games and programs still output to both cards. Others, like Duke3d, do seem to obey those Windows settings though and only play back music through the Adlib.
I checked on the ESS card but there seems to be no jumper for changing the music address (just for IRQ, DMA, base address and joystick).
Is it OK if both cards use the same address? It doesn't bother me. But could this cause lockups in certain games or anything like that?

Thanks.

The OPL3 can still be addressed through the SB/SB Pro interface even if 388 is disabled. There's nothing inherently wrong with leaving it enabled, though. At worst, you might have to balance the outputs.
