Hi, I think you've got a great program here, but I cannot use it on my PC, because when I start it with "dosdrv" in CMD it starts to load then brings up this error.

Instantiation - COM Error

Unable to instantiate Emulation Module "VDMServicesProvider".

0x800401f3 - Invalid class string (C:\Progra~1\VDMSound\VDMS.INI:66)

Do you want to continue...

Can anyone help me get this working?

2.1.0 beta comes with this wonderful LaunchPad extension, whereby you right-click on the program to start it together with VDMSound. Why are you trying to start dosdrv manually?

again thats another thing that works on the laptop but not on the PC but the pc is the one I really want to play it on. If I right click on TOMB.EXE there is no option for starting VDMS.

I have tried reistalling VDMS

TTC, as per this thread, you might have to re-register the Active Template Library before re-installing VDMSound:

C:\> regsvr32 atl.dll

(edit: Fixed typo's)

You also wrote "atl.dll" as "atl.ddl" 😉

Yes, it’s my fault.

Thanks, now VDMS starts ok, but when I get into the game, the sound is all stuttery - kind of like a cd skipping

Im beginning to think its not worth bothering.
Oh I dont know if this helps, but in VDMS I had to change the IRQ to 5 because it froze the game on 7 - is it possible its conflicting with my soundblaster live card?

Did you try fiddling with VDMSound's advanced option tab? specially, the cap timer feature and use a certain amount of cpu power. 😕

No; probably the game is configured for IRQ 5. There can be no conflict between your actual hardware and the virtual DOS machine's virtualized hardware unless you are using a passthrough (this is what SoundFX does).

Yes, it’s my fault.
