My Voodoo 3 is not providing a picture, and I am trying to build the ultima MS-DOS/WFW3.11/Win98SE machine.

Is the Matrox G400 series the absolute best for Windows 3.x as far as native driver support?

Can anyone tell me their experiences using the patched Windows 3.x SVGA driver? Is there a noticeable difference with the lack of acceleration? I will be running OriginFX and native Windows 3.x games and apps. Windows 98 games will be whatever DirectX version card I can get working at 640x480x256 in Windows 3.x, so if using the patched SVGA driver works well, I can go up to DX 9 I believe. CPU will be the fastest one I can get. The plan was to consolidate my computers and build a box that would include Windows XP with an Athlon XP, though I have a 3200+ box, and finding the right motherboard is an issue. I settled on getting the fastest P3 I can get and believe that ISA compatibility will be better that way (for AWE cards.)
