Hmmmmmmmmm jumpy jumpy what does it means?
Did you mean tha in playing soud or music there are cyclic breaks?
If yes, try to check your sound configuration.

Decrease memory block size for sound on 2048KB or smaller one.
And also check prebuffer number (try to get 10).

If it doesnt help you, chcek your render method and scale graphic.
I recomand render=surface and scale=none.

Because if I try use some rendering method on my shity comp (athlon 1200, 256 MB Ram), then I have that jumpy music like you.

Try also increasing cycles and/or frameskipping. Look in the readme file. 😎

One thing worth mentioning, if you do get sound working in wolf3d you won't be dissapointed. For some reason the original dos version cut out on digital sound effects..sometimes to the point where your gun makes no sounds. Dosbox seems to get this right and its great! 🤣

I run wolfenstein 3d at 20000 cycles...its overkill but it never skips.

I wonder if Wolf3D is taking advantage of Gravis UltraSound emulation or something. I know othat iD didn't use software sound mixing in Wolf3D, so sounds could only play one at a time. They didn't come up with sound mixing until they made Doom.

Maybe. It works just fine in dosbox and it seems to be using Soundblaster just like the original (at least the autodetect says so)

If it aint broke don't fix it! 🤣

Just more reasons to use dosbox I say.

I played around with the config file and I fixed the sound and minor lag for myself.

HOW TO FIX IT:

1. Open Your Wolfenstien 3D Folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Wolfenstein 3D\base
2. Open the wolf3d.conf file
3. Change fulldouble=true to fulldouble=false
4. Close the file and save the changes
5. Start Wolf 3D. Hopefully now it is lag free and your sound is fixed
