Hi there, one of my many Windows 3.1 issues this week.
(I am aware of another thread from 2014 which has now been locked)
I’ve recently installed windows onto an old Presario 425, at the same time I installed a CS4231 (Packard Bell/Aztech) card, which unfortunately after installing multiple different drivers appears to be dead, to be fair it wasn’t stored well (or maybe I’m not using the correct drivers).
So I’d be happy to use the PC Speaker for now, it is fully functioning and on a previous install of windows (disks now gone) it was playing .wav files etc.
I have tried installing the generic PC speaker driver, to no avail, I have removed every other driver from Control Panel, and still nothing. Hopefully I don’t have to go through system file and identify EVERY driver and delete?
So what I’m asking is, is there any alternative install, better way to remove or check drivers ?
I heard about a program called speakeasy from Indiana University but it appears they no longer host the file.
Thank you
