Hi,

I'm building a 386DX40 machine and I first used the ESS1868 audio card with wavetable chip. Found the drivers and it works moslty everywhere I'd say quite well even if I've no comparisons to understand how well or how bad. I've also the A151-A00 YMF719E-S card that here I was told it should be one of the best card for Dos. I'd like to know if from a cpu overhead point of view the card would free some cpu cycles compared to the ESS or I'd just improve quality. Also are the drivers (found on philcomputerlab webpage) easy to install like the ESS were?
And last questions, I noticed that with the Yamaha isa card together with a Cirrus Logic GD5429, I've corrupted graphic in dos after loading the driver and running some games.. is it possible that the irq,dma config may be a reason? The Setupsa app when loaded works with the test file like the setup of duke3d where I can test sound and music output but when I launch games everything crash. It doesn't happens with the ESS.
And how to load the yamaha driver config automatically without launching everytimes the setupsa.exe app?
