Over the last couple of years, I've been putting together replicas of my old PCs from when I was a teenager/young adult. One of the items I'm looking for is my original CD ROM drive. The problem is that I don't know who made it or what the model number was. However, it had a unique (to my recollection) loading mechanism. It was an internal drive. When you hit the eject button, the whole mechanism, not just the tray) would pop out slightly (like a floppy disk). You would then grab it and pull it out enough to expose a top-loading door that you would lift up and then load the CD. You would then push the whole mechanism back in.

Any thoughts on this model?

That Mitsumi looks to be 4X, I'm not sure mine was that fast.

Pretty sure that drive is 1x and not IDE (proprietary Mitsumi interface).

Yeah, you're right. It was just a wrong listing I was looking at. I'm not surprised it wasn't IDE. I have a saved search now, if I find one, I'll have to find an interface card as well (I may have one in my drawer somewhere).
