Sorry for the necro post, but the links to the files on MDL are long dead and I did not have any luck with Wayback Machine or intense Google Fu. I read that maybe I could extract these files from Windows XP Integral Edition but the download has failed 3 times tonight. You wouldn't happen to have copies of these files, would you? I'm looking for these ones:

Those drivers/utilites can be found in most recent versions of WinXPIE Patch Integrator. However, considering this forum's rules, you'll have to search it by yourself.

EDIT: So you're already aware of it. Maybe you can find some standalone Patch Integrator releases (fixes made after formal WinXPIE releases) in the comment area though it can be an effort going through all the posts there.

I need some help. I have the following folders from the latest Patch Integrator:

Microsoft USB3.x xHCI driver v2.2
Kernel-Mode Driver Framework 1.11
Miscellaneous

I was able to follow the directions to put some files from the Miscellaneous folder into the system32 folder, but am at a loss on how to install the Kernel-Mode Driver Framework 1.11 and actual USB 3 driver(s).

Help?

I'm fiddling around with nlite and see that I can add the driver to my ISO. I guess I'll try that, but I'm worried about skipping all the instructions in the various README's.

Last update. I fiddled with the Patch Integrator and added the USB 3 driver to the ISO I use. I will test it out...

...but, is that really the only way to install the usb 3 drivers? I was hoping I could just install them to an existing Windows XP installation.

The Patch Integrator does a good deal of things, including installing a custom certificate and signing the drivers with it, so Windows will not complain about those newly added drivers.

Yes it's theoretically possible to use the Patch Integrator with a different ISO than WinXPIE but you may need to make some modifications.

There was that UEFI loadable CSM awhile back.
New project called CSMWrap, a new legacy OS boot solution for UEFI-only systems lacking a built-in CSM

WinXP needs a CSM, as does Win7, even when it is using UEFI. It might be worthwhile to see if it works for this purpose.

I think Windows XP is humble enough to make it work.
In the past, XP ran on SeaBIOS as well as Apple's Bootcamp BIOS.
That BIOS was a very minimal BIOS that ran on a Mac's EFI firmware.
