I got an Amdek Video 310A (amber monochrome monitor) yesterday for free. I'd like to try to make it work if possible.
I plugged it in and turned it on. And... nothing. The power light turns on but there are no other signs of life. Not even the high-pitched CRT whine that I expect to hear.
Is this a common problem with these monitors? Or is it likely the CRT tube itself is just shot?
Is this something I could fix just by opening it up and replacing some capacitors or something? Or would I have to search through the entire circuit to find the one resistor that shorted?
