Hi,

I'm trying to run an old game Thief 2 on a netbook oriented subsytem the Atom D2500/GMA3600 iGPU. After some test it looks like this GPU can't work unfortunately well with the latest good unofficial patch with the Directx9 renderer resulting in unreadable menus and even when the game start it hangs after seconds. But with the older Dx6 renderer it runs but very slow like a early Dx6 card (around 20fps I'd say) while perfect in the rendering quality and stable.
While the system is a low end, low power with not many expectations, it should easily render this game considering it runs much better games at higher fps. It's not even a CPU problem looking at task manager % values.
I've got no tools beside the game config files to improve or work around it and I was thinking if maybe a wrapper to intercept the Directx6 3D calls to OpenGL or to Directx9 maybe would help cause it seems like this GPU works much better with newer games than with older ones. I suppose mostly cause I'm running Win 8.1 and it was not officially supported by the few drivers around (and using the latest so..) and only Win7.
Are there any safe open sourced and well tested wrappers to try?
Thanks
