Got GY-8240UWD working in Windows XP with Connected Corporation drivers and Adaptec SCSI card. I use Backup Exec 2010 R3. It's writing at 1.8MB/s and reading at 1MB/s.
I read that it can do up to 24MB/s. Does anyone know how to increase it's data transfer speed in Windows XP? Do I have to use SONY's PetaBack software?
Is the Fibre Channel version much faster?

I found HP data protector express supports SONY DTF-2 drives and is able to write at 12MB/s. Does anyone know other back up software that will work with DTF drive? I'm also looking to purchase a data protector express license/CD.

I know this post is super old, but you can usually install the generic Sony AIT driver in Windows, and backup software to talk to it that way.
