I've got an ITX motherboard with this chipset and integrated graphics. The board's support page only lists drivers for Windows XP and I'll be using it for Windows 98.

I installed the chipset drivers specifically for the board just fine for Windows 98 as whilst it was described as for XP the Hyperion driver package contains w98 too. but the drivers for the built in graphics are only XP.

So I downloaded the video drivers for the CN700 from the VIA driver page. Now, when I load up the desktop I get a black screen, as in its outputting black screen not outputting nothing. My monitor says it's 700*400 @70Hz which it can do.

There only appear to be one set of drivers for the CN700 so annoyingly I can't get older ones which would be my first step.

If I boot into safe mode and change the res to 640*480 and restart, it does this but then seems like the drivers aren't installed. Even tho device manager is quite happy that they are.

The drivers are from 2006 and the board is really made for XP I think so hopefully there are older driver out there...

Any ideas here?
