how do i invoke using monkey r? thats what the combatibility list tells me to do when running monkey island one and two. i have no clue where or how to do this. the program confuses me. i really need help, if somone could e-mail me on what the heck to do i would really apreciate it. my email is bladyblah2@hotmail.com

For starters don't worry about the invoke stuff, just use VDMSound as-is (and then, if *that* does not work, worry about invoking with the parameter).
So, start by right-clicking on MONKEY.EXE and selecting "Run with VDMS". Simple. If that gives you no sound then you can force the game to use Roland MT-32 (MIDI) with this "r" parameter. To do so: open up Notepad, and type the following line
monkey.exe r
...then go to "File", "Save as..." and save it as "my_monkey.bat" in the monkey island directory. Then right-click on my_monkey.bat and do "Run with VDMS" on that. As simple as that.
