Hello all,

I've bought SIEMENS-NIXDORF d981 (intel 440LX) with P2 233mhz, I wanted to update CPU either to p2 300mhz (Deschutes core) or celeron A300, but I'm getting " bios update for installed cpu failed " message. MB is showing the CPU as Pentium Pro. It looks like system boots fine otherwise but I need to confirm the message every time which is annoying as it's not possible to do it with usb keyboard 😀

I've found that I'd need to patch the bios with some "p6update" but I wasn't able to find it.

Does anybody have some experience with that ? Is it possible to "fix" it?

Thanks!

What you need, is the flashbios-update-disk.... I'll check my NAS.

I think you should chekout the latest Version first. R1.10.981
Simply generate a boot disk with the flash-bios and let it update the bios and the microkernel for the cpu.
If there is no suitable update for the cpu in these bios-updates let me know. I am sure I can help you.
