Hi everyone,

I've found an old site (archived) mentioned at the Beta Archive forums, I think.

It's about alternate shells for Windows 3.1x. I was very surprised to see such a diversity..
- I expected to see Calmira, the Workplace Shell for Windows, maybe that Norton Desktop thingy, but not that much.

Here are some sample screenshots:

Ol' ToastyTech has a bunch of screenshots.

I remember reading about something in PC World called "Visual File Manager" that was supposed to mimic a Mac, with its distinctive feature being a "Pear menu". I'm not sure I ever found that for download anywhere.
