I've seen some firewire/usb hubs that can offer firewire ports via an available usb port..to offer firewire support to computers that don't have any.

Does anyone know if this would work for networking a laptop to a pc? I have enough nics already and this just seems easier and less expensive.

I think your post belongs to the 'PC' section.

Moving it there....

I wouldn't recommend it. The two technologies work rather differently, and performance will suck.

Yes, it’s my fault.

PCI for a laptop? 😮

Besides it costed less than a cardbus firewire.

Anyway I may have found a better device, a USB Ethernet adapter. I'm going to simply plug her into my USB2.0 port and then use a cable to connect to the laptop. Cheap and easy! 🤣 (and I don't need another NIC card installed)
