I've been testing a 440EX system with the FSB overclocked to 83 Mhz for a couple of days now. It's stable when using either ATI or NVIDIA cards but when I swap in my Voodoo 3 3000 AGP, Windows 98 will only boot as far as a black screen and the whole system will freeze.
I've read here on this forum that the Voodoo 3 tolerates the FSB overclocking up to 89 Mhz. Maybe mine is just intolerant at this speed?
The system is otherwise underpowered with a 300 Mhz Pentium 2 and no other expansion cards inserted. The system will boot into Safe Mode but the system will lock up when booting normally after drivers have been installed.
Are there any known issues with FSB overclocking and the Voodoo 3?
