Never seen this before, trying to start the game but it bounces back to desktop which is changed to
640x480 and off center so can't see the start menu. When I change the desktop rez the system
freezes then have to reboot. Can anyone offer any insight on this?

My system specs:

Intel D815EEA2 mobo
P3 1.2ghz Tualatin
512mb ram
Geforce 3 Ti 200 nvidia drivers 41.09
Turtle Beach Aureal Vortex 2
Win98SE
DirectX 8.0

This game from Dynamix came out in 1999 so it's not that old relative to the hardware. Perhaps directX 8 causing problems?

Usually when that happens it's trying to set a different color depth. Used to happen more with older dx5 and dx6 games. However when it went right, it would flash back to desktop and then reset back to what you had on successful exit. It is possible that more modern resolutions other than 800x600 1024x768 are confusing it.

Believe I had the rez and color depth set to match the desktop (1024x768/16bit). Other games installed like Star Trek Elite Force
and Quake 3 don't act this way. I'm planning on selling this system so may just uninstall the "trouble makers".

Could be a frequency thing with the monitor too, like it's asking for 85 and the monitor says nope, either too high in the case of later/smarter CRTs or possibly too low (asking for 60 and it doesn't) in case of LCD.

Yeah forgot to mention I'm using an 20" Acer LCD good for up to 1280 x 1024 though like I said only set desktop to 1024 x 768.
