First time caller long time listener. Was hoping someone could help me identify which chip would be the first 64k of memory. I had this machine up and running but it wasn’t seeing the extended memory which are all AST branded and correct sticks. Then after trying some additional memory sticks it wouldn’t boot anymore to memory test and had no video. It gave me a beep code telling me that there is a problem with the first 64k of memory which I’m thinking may have been why it wouldn’t see the extended memory. I’m thinking it was failing from the get go. Well anyways I couldn’t find a detailed diagram or info on this motherboard and I was hoping someone could direct me to which chip(s) are the base memory on the board. I’ve attached a photo of the board. If I could identify it I could replace it and see if I can get this old girl back up and running. It is an AST Bravo 286. Many thanks for any input!

I'm not seeing any memory there, you need pairs of 30 Pin SIMMs, usually the first 64k is in the first bank, which would be the upper two in the picture.

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

So prior to the beep code stating first 64k of memory was bad it did boot with no sticks of ram in the 4 slots. There must be ram on the motherboard somewhere. Ty
