I picked a HP 200LX pocket computer earlier this year for a real decent price on eBay. When I got it I thought I found out why the price was so good. The screen was shifted about 2 columns to the right and it pixel problems. I thought the screen was going bad. It was usable but that always bothered me. I just put it away for a few months thinking I was going to have to get repaired. I took it out again and started search for repair options. What I found out was the unit had been modded to run at double the speed and as a result the screen has issues like that. You need to install a device driver to fix the screen issue. I installed the device driver clkup32.sys and what do you know, the screen is back to normal. Clock doubling the crystal was a pretty popular upgrade for this pocket PC back in the day. I have one that is not modded as well and the speed difference between the two is very noticeable.
