Hey Guys,
I want to rebuild my first computer which was a Intel 486dx-33 back in 1993.
What model number of the Intel 486dx-33 is best ?
I mean what variant as there are a few ?

U5D
What is U5D ?

It's a UMC clone of the Intel 486DX. If you specifically was an Intel DX33, the last revision was the SX810

Does U5D exist though? I've never seen one. U5S, sure, and those are fast (and run cooler than Intel/AMD chips). In the end though an SX2 or DX2 will be faster and it fits in the same socket.
If OP wants specifically an Intel 486DX-33 then there are no differences between them in terms of performance. The newer ones (at leat SX7xx where xx is closer to 99 than 00) have CPUID implemented, the older ones do not. And that's it. The later models might be manufactured in better technology and run a bit cooler but not all that much.
So the older ones are DX33s and the later ones are mislabelled DX50s, got it. 🦖

umc are without fpu, so they are more like sx, but they are the fastest cpus clock to clock

The U5D referred to above does include the FPU. It's the only UMC 486 to include one.

You are right but good luck finding it... I wasn't able to find even a picture of it.

Yep, sheer unobtainium unfortunately.
Of course, almost no 33MHz 486 software actually uses the co-pro (well, apart from Lotus 1-2-3, SimCity and Falcon 3.0 of course) so happily use my U5S until the blue moon when I find one 😉
I agree with you, the umc 486 it's a great cpu, overclocked to 50mhz is like an intel\amd sx 66mhz
OP lives in the US where UMC CPUs are more like contraband...

long live PCem
FUCK "AI"
🤣 they could not sell it in US back in time (thanks Intel!), but now buy them from ebay or from collectors I do not think it is a problem.
Since we recently speaked about the UMC cpu and unlucky we still lack a umc love topic, I'm going to post it there.
I tested the stash with my umc cpus and I was able to push them to 50mhz (no luck at 60mhz they hang during dos boot), this is the result against the other similar cpus, I'm more and more convinced it was a great cpu:
At 50mhz can fight against a 66mhz cpu in fastdoom!
Maybe intel didn't try banning them until they got one and benchmarked it 🤣
Exec: "UMC brought out a 486"
CEO: "Heh, it will be amusing to watch them fight over the crumbs with Cyrix"
two weeks later
Exec: "UMC brought out a 486, and it's faster than ours, we tested it!"
CEO: "Sue them! Sue their suppliers! Sue their grandmothers! Sue the guy that mows their lawn! Sue everyone!!!"
