Could someone help me find the driver for this old isa modem, I found ones from driver guide that infinitely load so those are out of the question, if anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

^Hi. The manufacturer could have been US Robotics.
Model type perhaps is "CJE-0283"?
The Telepath seems to be an early modem, perhaps with 28800 bps or 32600 bps or so.
The Telepath for Windows X2 seems to be an WinModem with 56k from ca. 1998..
- I've found some information, but it was scattered around.

Hi, yes. The site of US Robotics has a database entry for that model number that I found, but..
I have trouble finding the correct driver.

odd, well thats a step closer!
You don't so much need drivers with that as the correct init string. It installs as a serial port. So if it's not being seen disable or rearrange your other serial ports.
Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

If I dont have drivers it doesnt work, Im on 95 sp1
there is one listed as an upgrade: 7502725v.exe from Gateway which says: "Telepath V.90/56K Modem Upgrade".
Try this Telepath driver first here: https://www.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=24992
Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

I’ve actually tried that, once it installs it asks at Reboot for a specific file well, it finds the file but then it reinstalls it saying I need to restart, and That just repeats endlessly
Yeah That 7502725v file is actually an upgrade for the Telepath not the original driver but was hoping it would help..
Ok try this: https://archive.org/details/gateway-telepath.-7z
Inside is a few drivers off Gateway site with one that may be of value: telepath2836x2.zip and telepath_all.zip
Try the 2836x2 first, if it not work then dig thru telepath_all. It has drivers, docs and some help files that might get you going...
The one driver that is known to work on the USR 0478 (from the back of the modem) is sadly long gone off websites but will keep looking.

The upgrade in 7502725v .exe looks to be a complete driver with v.90 and v.34 support (the older original driver is likely v.34 and X2 only, which is not that useful these days) that could likely be installed through device manager once extracted (if needed). I have taken the liberty of attaching it directly .
Original Gateway website info page that pointed to the driver on an FTP site :
https://web.archive.org/web/19990423200248/ht … /modem/v90.html
EDIT : If this file gives the same request to reboot as the previous one from Driverguide, please provide more details about with is happening . This should be rather painless, theoretically.

Thank you so much, I hope that eventually this form will be found by other people looking for the exact same thing!

OK, thank you I will give this a try tomorrow, Funny enough I was just trying to get networking on windows 95 and it was just easier to install a Lan driver! 🤣 AnyWho I’m still going to try to mess around with dial up
stubbertville Let us know how it goes ! Thanks darry !
side note: many early PnP modems required the driver be installed with the card not in the computer: you run the driver, shut down and install the modem and startup and then point back to the drivers again...
yeah PIA but that is how some worked ;p

OK, good to know I guess I’ll try that out
Thanks to darry's link was able to dig around and find the older driver (non-v90)
https://web.archive.org/web/19991127201626/ht … telepatha.shtml
7502311.exe 1 MB 5/98 Windows 95 / Windows 98 x2 drivers
Be sure you disable COM2 on your motherboard as that appears to be the default for the modem...per the readme.txt inside

Cool, Horun!
Hopefully, one of those will work for OP.

I found it: is CJE-0478 at the bottom of the FCC list you show and points to the same model 871731 00 as on the white sticker.
Did not help much as they currently do not have any of the older drivers at the USR website 😒
I think you are correct and is a very early WInmodem version....

Odd. My Win 9x machine is in storage so cannot test it and my XP box complained "not for this windows version" and sort of locked up 🤣
Curious what version of Winows 95 are you running ??
