I found this processor, and I intend to build a cool computer with it. But I remembered how hot my old pentium 4's were, I thought about doing a delid and changing the internal thermal compound, but I remembered that some pentium 4 had their cores soldered to the IHS, while others used a low quality gray thermal compound. So is it safe to delid on the 670, or is it not necessary (soldered core)?

It is soldered. Im not saying I used a razer blade to find this out.

High-end Prescott CPUs had soldered cores, due to very high TDP.

I must be some kind of standard: the anonymous gangbanger of the 21st century.
