Hi,

I am using W10 64bit and wanted to try out NFS5.

I have installed the game, installed the 3.5 enhanced patch. the game starts and as soon i click on race to start the race it goes back to desktop without any error. Do you know what culd be the problem?

Probably Windows 10 itself. Experiment with compatibility modes if that doesn't help, then VMs. Need for Speed 4 do well in Virtual Box, but I think only in software render.

If on software wizardry helps, then you'll have to settle for real hardware retro gaming. For this game, it won't be expensive.
