Solved! Running!
--
Hallo,
I have got this board few years ago with a missing bios chip. I have burned a new one (bios found on the Internet) and tried to revive the board. But I was only partly successful.
I got beeps (do not remember now how many) but it was something related to VGA memory.
But why I am here - during the process I accidentally flipped the eeprom chip and killed it. Unfortunately, it looks the board died as well.
I have prepared another bios chip but now the board is not even beeping as before.
I socketed the DALLAS chip and hook up a battery on it - but this I tried later after the incident. Probably nothing to do with my problem.
So...do you think is there any chance to save it? Yes, I know I am an idiot - but you know, we are just humans, and it was some years ago when I was a "rookie" at all.
I am suspecting on of the 74LS245 TTL chip as it is in the circuit with the bios chip and those die quite easily...
However how big is the chance I fried the chipset itself?
Any help will be appreciated! Thank you.
