I mean, has anyone ever gone to the trouble of putting quality parts on a motherboard with crappy components?
Today I was remembering that in mid 2006, I had an AMD K6-2 550mhz computer on an M748lmrt Xcell 2000 board that was extremely unstable. That was my everyday computer, and it gave me a lot of problems, until one day, I found in a forum a guy who made a tutorial on how to "fix" the motherboard, basically he discovered that in addition to bad quality capacitors, there were some components undersized for the work they were supposed to do, and that caused instability. I decided to follow the tutorial and changed the components, and the board magically became stable and with a much better performance.
Nowadays, it's hard to find some things like socket 7 AT motherboards, and sometimes I see low quality things like PC Chips, ECS, and other less prestigious brands. I was thinking, maybe it's useful these days, this knowledge on how to make low cost boards reliable and stable
