Hello everyone,

I received a processor AMD K6-2 (450 mhz). The processor is in a good state with one exception - it's missing a pin, more precisely pin AN 37 (Vss) situated in the exact opposite corner of the matching indicator on the corner of the CPU.
In the diagram from the link it's the pin in the upper right corner - https://www.pchardwarelinks.com/586pin.htm
Or here at the pages 267 and 268 (the same upper right corner) - https://www.digchip.com/datasheets/parts/data … /AMD-K6-pdf.php

I don't have a socket 7 motherboard at the time but I will receive it next week.
My question is: will the processor work without that pin or not? If not is there a way to make it work, for example replace the pin with another metal as similar as possible with the original?

Thanks in advance!

AN37 is one of the Ground (Vss) pins. Chances are VERY good it doesn´t matter it´s missing.

Solder it back in place. The pin pitch is pretty coarse on this CPU, it shouldn't be difficult. Use a donor pin from a different CPU.

Happened to me almost the same.
Just lost Vss under it, so AL37.

The CPU should be functional before. Seller sent it the way, it had some pins screwed, I've tried to fix it, and one of the pins was very weak, and basically fell off after even tiny manipulation.

I need to test it, if it works, cause it's K6-2 500, and it wasn't cheapest, so I let to know here, if it worked.
