Turning Turbo mode off??

Anyone know how you turn Turbo mode on/off on a P5-100 gateway 2000? There is nothing on the case or the original keyboard so im a little confused.

Are Pentium mobos Turbo-able even?
This guy has a similar PC to yours and couldn't figure out how to do it.

I'd say wait to get into DOS, then hold Ctrl+Alt then start pressing each key on the keyboard (except Del, hehe). You might get lucky and discover the right toggle key... if there ever was one.

Another thing to do probably even before trying, is to trace the Turbo LED connector. If it has a dedicated header on the mobo or if it's branched off some generic LED connector (maybe even PWR LED). In which case it would prove to be a dud Turbo LED.

Chances are that the option isn't there (no turbo header on the motherboard or a shortcut on the keyboard). This is different to just having an LED connected to the motherboard.

Turbo switches were more common up to the 486 era but, but beginning with the Pentium era, it started to become obsolete. There were some Pentium boards with a functional turbo header (I have one) but, they aren't that common.

Your best option would be to either go into the BIOS to disable L1 or L2 cache or use a utility like Setmul.

Its a Intel OEM motherboard inside?
So "CTRL ALT +" and "CTRL ALT -" combos under DOS and "TURBO MODE" on/off inside BIOS (as permanent variants)

Is that a Gateway 2000 "Family Computer"? I just picked up a P5-75 a few weeks back. There is an option in the Bios to turn off the turbo, but you really wanna keep it on if you intend to use it as a P5-100.
