Now, I'm facing quite a dilemna here. I have no video (as in complete black screen) whatsoever when running any DOS games out there. Using the latest VDMS Sound 2.1.0. I've had it running one time for my first installation of that same version and somehow, it was running fine. I'm using the all of its default settings but low-level CD-ROM and VESA support. Here's what my system is running:
Motherboard: DFI NForce 4 Ultra LanParty Ultra-D
CPU: Athlon 64 3500+
Video: ATI X800XL 256MB with Catalyst 5.6
Sound Board: Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS

I tried different Catalyst versions 5.5 and 5.6 but to no avail. Tried uninstalling and re-installing VDMS Sound and still no luck... help.

Never mind. Stupid ITE Smart Guardian was responsible for the mess-up. My apologies.

I have the same problem with my LanParth NF4 Ultra. I would love to know how you fixed it. Did you uninstall SmartGuardian? (Maybe it prevents direct memory access or something...)

Why are you using 4-5 month old Catalyst drivers, just out of curiosity?

Oh, necroposting. Oops.
