well i want to play blood in mplayer. since it is impossible to run mplayer on xp i installed 98. installed VDMsound alpha and everything works fine.

dosdrv.bat -> then setup.exe from blood.

and it works, i am so happy. but my happiness will soon come to end.

i went sound setup, chose sound card -> sound blaster -> IRQ 7, DMA(8bit) 1, DMA(16bit) 5 and addres 220. it accepts it with no trouble. then i klicked on test sound and...

"playback failed due to invalid or conflicting dma".

i must point out that when i click test sound my speakers make a "noisy" sound.. like 'pssst' and then message appears.

if you have any suggestions i would be VERY gratefull.
