This is some window style that I have never seen in my entire life with Windows 🤣. The game is Dune Runners and it creates an unique window. Does anybody have any idea how to use this window style in other places or as default? I am on Windows 11 and it is weird seeing such windows.

Games developed by Orange Games/Arjan Brusee for Windows try to do a dressed-up gradient or textured window caption (very few pre-W98 apps/games did this to look a little prettier as a window). You'll also see this in Jazz Jackrabbit 2 and Battery Check. Microsoft Word 95 might be the first to do this. Borland Delphi also has the ability to dress up the caption.

They've never intentionally had wide buttons or thick borders though. Looks like Windows 11 absolutely shat on it. It's supposed to be a normal, standard Windows 95 window with a pretty caption - nothing more. It'd be rather indistinguishable on Windows 98/ME/2000 where gradient captions are the norm. and they took that kind of window away since the Metro/DWM BS in 8!

The funnier thing is the game doesn't even have Alt+Enter support or borders on Windows 98. Ok it's understandable DDraw and DWM conflicts created this window somehow, but even this is not a case fixed using ForceSimpleWindow shim, so this window is coming from a 3rd place nobody knows. The other thing is when you resize the game window, the game pauses from the inside with buffered sound (there is no pause button), as if they made this as an easter egg exposed from Windows bugs. 🤣
