Right away, there is a problem. If you had read the information in the installer (where it says you should "Please read this entire document carefully") you would have seen that you installed VDMSound for Windows NT. This will not work in WinME.

There is an alpha version of VDMSound for Win9x at this link, but be aware that it is a very early alpha with no documentation and no interface at all:

Closing thread: WRONG. Just...wrong. How he even managed to get it installed in ME is beyond me.

Yes, it’s my fault.

Misunderstanding: I don't think you can install VDMSound *at all* on WinME, so he must have meant Win2k.

ST25 (the floppy version) should work OK. Do a search on all your hard-disks for files called "*.sys" (without quotes) that contain (inside the files) the string "Ke386" (again, without the quotes). At least one file should be found. What files come up?

I thought there were some shared files from NT placed in ME that might make it possible.

Not sure how you mix up ME and 2K...Hrrmm.

Also, need clarification on that "clicking the icon" reference. Need to make sure that this is the game's executable or batch file.

VDMSound's installer checks and won't install on anything other than the NT family. No way of tricking that AFAIK.
