I'm not sure where else to post this, but I spend a good portion of my time playing with old computers (who would have thought?!) so I thought that VOGONS folk might be interested.
I was thinking of starting a live stream on youtube or twitch to show some a of what I was doing. I tend to do things that aren't in the standard "old computers" category, so instead of old DOS games or Commodore board repairs, I might be setting up OpenVMS systems (which I currently am) or tweaking COBOL programs on s370 (or IBM Z mainframes if I ever get cloud access back to them).
I know a lot of people aren't familiar with minicomputers and mainframes, and figured live streaming might be a way to get more people into the hobby or answer some more in depth questions. I tend to do a fair amount of development too, so a lot of streams might be centered around that.
I'm currently getting my masters in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in embedded systems, so there could be some of that stuff thrown in there as well (e.g. FPGA development, RTOS programming...).

In short, the streams would be about everything in computing that *isn't* micro computing. It took me a long time to figure out a sustainable path doing these types of things, and if I had someone I could have asked questions to, it might have been a lot smoother along the way. I'd like to give back and I'm not looking to become an influencer or get huge view counts, I'll just do what I'm doing anyways, and if people would like to watch, or ask general questions, I would be more than happy to answer.
First stream would be about adding a second NIC to my axpbox emulated Alpha OpenVMS system to get a more reliable network connection. It will probably involve looking at the code of the emulator since there is an issue with excess CPU usage that I want to address as well.
