I hear that XP has a built in sound blaster emulation program. im kinda new to this so if any can help me figure out how to run this program it would be helpfull. I want to play star trek:25th anniversary. and some other games. but i cant get the sound to work. i followed the setup wizard, and i right click to run with VDM, i tried one with and without the music sympol, and there is still no sound. can anyone walk me through this thax.

The Windows XP sound emulator is on IRQ5. No user intervention is required. Be warned, however: it sounds terrible.

Both Star Trek 25th anniversary (floppy version) and Judgment Rites (floppy version) work perfectly with VDMSound, so if you get no sound then either you have not run the game's SETUP or CONFIG to autodetect/specify the settings (SB on port 220, IRQ7, DMA1, etc.) or you have a problem with your system (search files named "*.sys" that contain the string "Ke386", without the quotes, on all your hard-drives).
