Some of the old games I like are PC speaker only, like EGATrek. My PC speaker is very quite so I hoped to hook it up to my SoundBlaster CT2970. But, it looks like i have a cheaper model with out a PC Speaker connection, correct? Or would the AUX2 work? And if so my only option looks to be another soundcard?

You can most likely use that analog input for PC Speaker (after of course unmuting it and setting the volume) but not directly, the conventional PC Speaker has 5 V always live and a switched ground to feed the sound into (out of?) it, so you'd need some added electronics to turn that into a line level signal; shouldn't be very complex but I'm not the most knowledgeable person on this matter...

Now whether it's worth it compared to changing your soundcard (or amplifying the motherboard output, or switching to a more sensitive speaker, or adding the missing components to get a PC Speaker input on the sound card) is another question!

Yeah, lots of options but I think the EZ route may be to find another card with the correct input. Kinda cheap on eBay anyway. Thanks Ryccardo!

Another option is just to look at how your speaker is mounted. I had one that was clipped into a plastic cage, completely gutless hanging in the air like that. I hard mounted it against the metal chassis instead, and the difference was huge.

At the link you will find a complete solution, and on the attached diagram a very simplified, but noisy, version.

PC Speaker Sound Device. Need advice.

If that's the case he can mount the actual passives needed and connector on his board , the smaller square is the actual input for the pc speaker signal .

are you saying i could just solder on the connections needed like other cards have? so I could go from motherboard to soundcard?

and btw, thanks all for the help.

I should note that this little thing from amazon helped, but still quite quite. I remember my 486sx 25 back in the day just blasted its pc speaker sound.

Yes, component values should be:
R43 - 390 Ω
R40,R41 - 47 kΩ
C81 - 10 nF
C88 - 4.7 uF
You need to check where the trace from C88 leads, it should go to a resistor, which is also probably missing and should be 20 kΩ or so.
