Apologies if this is posted in the wrong area, but just in case someone else, somewhere, sometime ever ends up playing with one of these *cough* remarkable *cough* motherboards in the future and wants a marginally better bios, I created one.
I've modified the 030808s.rom found here:
https://www.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php … driverid=202090
It contains:
1) Bios patcher
Source: https://www.rom.by/articles/BP/index_english.htm
2) Intel PXE boot rom instead of Novell's RPL (remote program load)
Source: https://driverscollection.com/?file_id=14099
Tested working on M810LR-H V7.0A
If you don't trust me, or have a different version/board/lan card and want to do it yourself:
1) Follow the bios patcher instructions to create that MODULE and copy it to a folder with the original bios.
2) Copy the PXE_m.19 MODULE in the zip to the folder with the original bios******
3) Obtain a working copy of AMIBCP
4) Open the original bios with AMIBCP
5) Delete the original network boot rom (in this case it's vendor ID 1039 device ID 0900)
6) Insert the 2 MODULES
7) Save as a new rom file
😎 Flash
9) Cross your fingers, praise Jehovah/Allah/Buddha/Ra/Thor and reboot
****** Note this file is only for SIS 900 cards. If you're trying to do the same thing with a different card, you'll need to find a PXE rom for your card.
I did attempt to use iPXE (open source PXE loader) but I didn't have any luck. Maybe your card will.
