Trying to flash the Bios on an FIC KA-6100 Slot 1 for larger hard drive support (40 GB) as it currently will not recognize the drive in any form.

It is a PCB\Rev 1.2 Board

According to everything I have been able to dig up, the latest\greatest Bios update is:

BIOS ID: 11/09/1998-691-596-W877-2A6LFI2CC-00
OEM ID: Version 1.1eI patched for HDD to 128 Gb

File name: 610011EX.bin

Upon boot up, current bios shows as: Version 1.1 eI
On the Bios chip it shows: 1.1 els

Motherboard jumper set to:
Flash ROM size: 1 M
ROM Voltage: 5 V (Should I be changing this to 12 v?)

When using AWDFlash 8.99 I receive: "The Program File's Part Number Does Not Match With Your System"
There is no way to override as I have tried several command line switches.

When using AWDFlash 5.3 in an attempt to bypass the warning, the program freezes at any selection other than to quit the program.

I'm pretty much at my wit's end here.

Any ideas?

I would try Uniflash first, then if it doesn't work I would try different versions of Awardflash. This site has three versions, one of them ought to work: https://web.archive.org/web/20061020193306fw_ … 2.asp#socket478

After watching many YouTube videos about older computer hardware, YouTube began recommending videos about trains - are they trying to tell me something?

Probably need to positively ID the EEPROM chip to know whether it should be set 12V or 5V. I would also recommend uniflash if awdflash isn't liking it, I don't know whether some manufactures hacked awdflash for their boards or not, but sometimes only the version off their site would work.

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.
