Hello, everybody!
I'm having a hard time getting a Getac A740T Laptop up and running. It has two major issues, that need to be addressed.
For starters, the laptop lacks a HDD caddy. It is impossible to install a HDD without it. In case you're wondering, booting from a PCMCIA device is not possible. Using floppies is the only way to boot right now.
Here are some pictures, of what the caddy should look like:

Any thoughts on what I might try?
Needless to say, the missing caddy renders this thing completely useless.
And on the other hand, the backlight inverter has kicked the bucket. While the use of an external monitor is fine for the time being, I'd like to find a way, to get the backlight working again. A makeshift solution would also do the trick.
Any opinions on that? I gladly attach photos, if needed.
The model designation of the inverter board is lc1219a.
Searching for the model number resulted in a dead end.
If anyone has the HDD caddy and inverter I'm looking for, I'd be interested in buying them, if you're willing to ship to Germany.
I know my chances are slim, but asking is worth the try.
As always, any help is welcome.
