Hello,
I bought a known faulty Soltek SL-56D5 motherboard.
Sure enough, when it arrived, it was "dead". No post, nothing on the post analyzer.

I recapped it (all caps), and after some trouble finally got it to post with a P233mmx.
The next morning, posted a few times, but then nothing.

I've reflowed the southbridge, clockgen, bios socket etc. Bios has been updated.
The CPU has both voltages (correct) and a clock of 66MHz.
The post analyzer shows clock and frame. All voltages except 3,3V (normal, I assume) are present also.

No shorts on the ATX PSU connector rails.

Any ideas?

FYI,
3v3 isn't present on the ISA bus so that would be normal If you are using the post card on the ISA bus.
On the PCI bus it can be present, though on early mainboards it's not a guarantee that it is present, nor required.

Right to repair is fundamental. You own it, you're allowed to fix it.

I reflowed the cpu socket, ram sockets and cache chip. And checked for shorts. Now it seems to work for a bit ... We'll see.
