Hi all!
Today I've been organizing part of my modest collection and when checking a GF2 MX AGP card that seemed to work in the past (I have it for many years and It's been 1 year approximately since the last time I used it), I found that it does not boot and I'm getting the typical 3 short + 1 long beep sequence that tells no VGA card is installed. This happens in every motherboard I tried to connect it.
To try to discard that the card is dead, I connected a secondary PCI video card and saw that the system is able to recognise 'some' VGA card with a completely incorrect device ID as shown in the image using DOS - Hiren's boot cd diagnostics software. It does not match any Nvidia product, surprising!!

In Windows, it manages to detect a new device, and when I move to the driver selection screen, the system crashes completely.
I have never seen something similar and I'm very curious about it. The tests I was planning to perform were to discard a more common solution like bios corruption or card completely dead, but this is new for me. Has this happened to any of you before? 😳
Thanks a lot
