Good afternoon all,

I have recently purchased this epic board on our local auction website in NZ (trademe.co.nz) and have been trying to get the system working but I am running into some complications.

First off the specs of the system are as follows

1x Motorola PATX5000 (BIOS 1.1RM02 Siemens)
2x Pentium3 733B
4x 512MB RD Ram 400 ECC
ATI Rage 128 AGP (Also tried with a Matrox dual head card I think a G45 but it would go into a boot loop)
1x Atlas 10K IV Scsi drive (Although I am having trouble getting this detected, which I suspect is the SCSI cable which is in poor shape)
1x Generic CD-Rom drive (Shows up in the BIOS as F5E-(PM) )

The problem am having at the moment is not being able to get the system to boot off a windows 2000 cd, or really any boot cd other than the Windows 9x project (I don't realy want to install a version of windows 9x due to the lack of dual CPU support) I have tried to use a memtest86 boot cd and also a copy of Alpine Linux.
What happens, is that the system starts to boot off the CD then just reboots, I once got as far as it asking for scsi drivers before rebooting.
I am guessing that I have a BIOS option incorrect somewhere as in the boot section it has the options for 'Installed O/S: Other, Win95 or Win98/2000' and the only one that even seems to start the boot from cd process is the Win95 option (which boggles my mind)

Below is my Google drive folder with the Pics of the board.

I am looking to see if anyone has any ideas as to where I should go from here as I am starting to come up dry.

So quick update here,

It seems my issues may have entirely stemmed from a bad IDE ribbon cable.
I got a new cable and connected up an old Seagate 40GB IDE drive to the master on channel 1 and connected up that same CD-Rom drive as a master on another new ribbon cable on channel 2 and all seems to be working fine.

I am now online with Windows 2000 Professional with unofficial service pack 5.

Still working out what I am going to do with this thing, but I am setting up RetroNAS so that I can hopefully start transferring some stuff to this machine, as its not very happy with flash drives, and burning a CD for each new thing I think of is not great either.

But all in all Success 😀
