Hi there,

Today I was given a Tanix TX85 minipc that has an Atom x5-Z8350 SOC (Intel Graphics HD 400, which is supposed to work fine with DOS).
But sadly, it has an American Megatrends BIOS with date 2019, which has no CSM mode boot.

So, what's with these DOS-compatible SOCs on machines with no CSM boot options on the BIOS?
Can they be reflashed with a CSM-compatible BIOS or something like that?

Thanks!

I know that this topic is a bit old, but there is finally a project that actually accomplishes that, called CSMWrap.

Is this Atom SoC by any chance one of those systems that come with a 32-bit UEFI? Like the Intel Compute Stick and comparable devices?

If so, good news: later releases of CSMWrap now have both x64 UEFI and ia32 UEFI builds.

I opened a dedicated CSMWrap thread here. Curious to read if this works for you. 🙂
