Hello,
I have recently purchased an IBM PS/2 Model 30 286 off of Ebay and am experiencing a few issues. I'm new to retro computing, so please be patient with my inexperience.
When turned on:
- The PSU fan spins up
- The motherboard's chips heat up
- The floppy disk drive makes no sounds whatsoever
- The computer does not output a video signal via VGA, the monitor detects that there is a computer connected through the VGA cable, but gives a message saying that there is "[n]o VGA signal from your device."
- The keyboard's caps lock and num lock lights flash and then go out immediately
Could these issues be solved by ordering new hardware, like a GPU or something? Or is it possible that it's just something simple that I don't have the experience to recognize? I'm not really sure what other information is necessary to properly diagnose the issue, so please feel free to ask any question that may be of further assistance. Thank you!
Best,
T.W.
