I have a 486 board laying around that always gives a controller failure, so I’m going to try it with an xt-ide card.
There’s a lot of info tob e found but I still have some questions.
Since the xt-ide card has no connections (it’s an old nic) I still need a controller card for my CF adapter. Can I also use a floppy drive?
I guess the CD ROM drive will be no problem, it’s a 2x speed with interface card.
So, I can make a bootable DOS 6.22 CF card in another system, connect it to the 486 and I’m good to go?
Can you still access the onboard bios with an xt-die card?
